Club Governance

Craigieburn City FC aims to create an inclusive, fun, and highly developmental environment for all players to grow their love for soccer. Our selection policy empowers competitive players to aspire to higher levels of play, while equally catering to those who wish to play socially.

Junior Player Placement (U7 - U11)

Players in the MiniRoos categories are generally placed into teams based on peer groups and skill brackets to ensure balanced competition. Football Victoria categories include:

• Kangaroos: Strong soccer skills, high intensity.
• Wallabies: Developing skills, moderate intensity.
• Joeys: Beginners or purely social players.

Youth Competitive Grading (U12 - U18)

Teams in these age groups are strictly graded into A, B, C, or D divisions. Grading is conducted by independent club technical directors over a two-week trial period prior to pre-season. Players are evaluated on technical ability, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and attitude.

Craigieburn City FC has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. We are committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people who participate in our club activities.

• All coaches, volunteers, and committee members must hold a valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Clear protocols are established for reporting any concerns or disclosures of abuse to the relevant authorities immediately.
• Physical contact between coaches and players must be strictly appropriate to the development of the sport.

Victoria's 11 Child Safe Standards

Our practices are guided by the Victorian Commission for Children and Young People's Child Safe Standards, which every organisation working with children in Victoria must meet:

1. Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in club leadership, governance and culture.
2. Children and young people are empowered about their rights and participate in decisions that affect them.
3. Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
4. Equity is upheld and diverse needs are respected in policy and practice.
5. People working with children are suitable and supported to keep children safe.
6. Processes for complaints and concerns are child-focused.
7. Staff, coaches, and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to keep children safe.
8. Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for harm.
9. Implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved.
10. Policies and procedures document how the club is safe for children and young people.
11. We establish a culturally safe environment that respects and values Aboriginal children's identities and experiences.
